* 21/8/2017 Hi Angelo!

I'm pretty sure I said at our 4th session that I would shoot you an email from time to time to let you know how I'm going with my weight loss, keep myself on track etc. That was back in June so you may have thought I'd fallen off the wagon - I haven't! Staying strong with the lifestyle changes (I refuse to use the word 'diet' - it implies an end date to me) and I'm pleased to say I've lost 33.5kg to date, so that's another 21kg since I last saw you for our 4th session. I was feeling pretty happy to get under the 100kg mark. I'm not having much trouble with my eating, my stomach tells me pretty quickly if my 'eyes have been too big for my stomach' and I've over-eaten as I'm so used to the small serves now that having a more generous serve makes me feel very uncomfortable afterwards, really not worth it! Plus I'm rarely experiencing any cravings I'm not finding it too difficult to stick with the program rules. I've kept on track with my daily exercise too, in addition to my rowing machine (which after owning it for 10 years has finally seen a bit of work the last 3 months) I bought a near new second-hand exercise bike (for $150, bargain!) recently and I'm mixing it up a bit between the two machines now. So everything is on-track, running around with my 6yo Bronte is getting easier every day, I'm feeling very happy with my achievements so far and am looking forward to the progress I know I'm going to keep making!

Hope this finds you well, just another happy progress update from me, I've lost 44kg to date now. I tried on my 'goal outfit' recently (black dress with small white dots, size 14) and to my surprise it fits! (I was wearing a size 22 when I met you). Putting on that dress and having it fit perfectly was an unbelievable moment for me. Thank you.

I think I've got another 20kg or so to go until I'm in a really healthy weight range (according to the Aust guidelines anyway) but that seems achievable to me and I've done some thinking and planning about Xmas and summer already as this would usually be a very high calorie and over-indulging time for me and I'm determined not to go backwards after coming so far. I'll have a bit more time (as I'll be off work on holidays) for some extra exercise and over-indulging actually makes me feel so crappy immediately afterwards that I'm actually not that likely to do it anyway!

A very quick final update for the year (sooo busy trying to get things finished off at work!) - but couldn't resist letting you know - I've lost 50kg now since mid May. Feeling very pleased with myself as 50kg lost by Christmas was a goal I set for myself ages ago.

Thanks for your words of encouragement about coping with temptation at Christmas, you are right, I can do it!

I am getting heaps of positive comments from people which is really nice, and some people actually haven't recognised me as they think I look quite different, which is amusing!

Will paste two photos of myself here in the email, the first is from my day 1, the day of my first hypnosis session in May, the second is from last Saturday night before we went to my husband's Christmas work dinner. The photos say it all.

Christmas and the holiday break went well re my weight loss. I was anxious about it leading up to it as it would usually be a time full of over-indulgence for me, but I did it did it differently than I would have in the past. My aim was just to stay on track and maintain the weight I'd lost, not put any (or too much) back on over the break and I achieved that, so that was good. I'm back on track now, have lost 53.5 kg to date, another 10.5kg to go before I hit my ultimate goal and then need to work on maintenance. If I can get there I will have halved my total body weight. If I can do it by the 13th of May it means I've done it within 12 months, but I'm really starting to feel like there is no finishing line, this is the way I live now and will always, so timeframes don't really matter.

Yes, it's fine for you to use any of my comments to you in emails as a testimonial, signing up to do the hypnosis with you was possibly best thing I've ever done for myself, and for my daughter as my health has improved dramatically. I had 'fatty liver' (amongst other things) show up in blood tests last year, a second blood test just before Christmas showed that has totally resolved and my liver function is completely normal now.

I'll send you an email when I reach my 'ultimate goal weight'. Hope your year has started well.

You will be pleased to know that currently I have lost 15kg, still working on it and not finding it too hard, slowly but surely.

The doctor was very impressed and has put your information on his file so he can recommend this procedure to other patients if required. He admitted he hasn't had anything to do with hypnosis in the past.

My Type 2 Diabetes has now dropped to below the level considered to be a diabetic, but naturally the condition is still underlying, so I have to be careful.

I am able to wear my size 16 top of my new outfit, but still not into the slacks, a work in progress.

*I am 57 years old, and have been battling my weight for the last 25 years. I have tried numerous diets, some fads, and some calorie controlled like Weight Watchers. All have succeeded for a little while, some better than others.

At best I lost 19kg by cutting out all fat from my diet, and very vigorous exercise. The trouble has been none of these diets were sustainable. Going out to a restaurant was my worst nightmare, social functions had me shuddering, and coming home from work to a home cooked meal from my husband had me in a turmoil. Eventually, in every case, I resumed my old habits, and the weight returned. I'd put a couple of kilo on, and not worry, a couple doesn't matter, does it?

As time went on, I could justify my weight gain, and live with it, until I found another fad I thought would fit my lifestyle, which started the ball rolling again. Shakes, calorie counting, low fat, high protein, starving, meal skipping, soups, on and on it goes, I think I have tried just about all of them.

Then one day I saw an advertisement for Virtual Gastric Banding. As a nurse, I knew I was not morbidly obese, where surgery was an option, but hypnosis? It might work! I started enquiries with Susan, who always replied to my email enquiries very promptly. Then one day, the time had come, I was ready to give it a go. I haven't looked back. Susan was very supportive, comforting and professional. I have now lost almost 10kg, my goal, because it has put me right in the middle of the BMI range, considered healthy for my height. I can go to a restaurant and eat anything I like, usually from the entrée options, and have absolutely no qualms stopping when my body tells me too. I don't have to finish everything on my plate, and don't eat until I think I am going to explode. No one notices my change in habit, no one has to hear me complain about lack of choice because of whatever the diet of the day is. I have great pleasure fitting into everything in my wardrobe again, accessorizing with belts, and feeling very comfortable with my body. Susan has continued to monitor my success, and to provide support, encouraging me every step of the way. I truly love the CD Susan made for me, it is such a special time for me, so relaxing. I am extremely confident there is no reason to ever fall back in bad habits. I am not missing out, and don't ever have to think about what I am putting in my mouth, just listen to my body.

*Hi Susan, I can't believe how much my life has changed since I started The Virtual Gastric Band Program with you. That little voice on my shoulder, the one that sabotaged any efforts I'd made in weight loss previously, has gone, retired, disappeared. I think about food differently. My bad habits have disappeared. I concentrate when I'm eating and enjoy what I'm eating but I really can manage small portions.

*Hi Angelo, I just wanted to let you know about my weight loss. It's been 15 weeks since I first saw you back in February 2015 at your Bendigo location. Up until yesterday I have lost 10.5kgs & 59cm overall. I'm finding my new lifestyle with my eating & exercise regime as easy to do as it was after the first week. My GP is amazed & pleased with my results so far, having gone down from 16MG daily of high blood pressure medication to a 4MG tablet. Hopefully to reduce to zero in the coming months. *Just a quick hello and to let you know how things are going; It has now been 20 weeks since my first session with you, and I'm pleased to tell you I'm not far off 20kg lighter and feeling wonderful!! Also lots of cm's have gone, around 85cm!

I still am looking at losing another 10 kg and will be in touch to let you know how things are progressing!! I walk most days, around 7km. This is the most amazing thing as I HATED walking and never thought I could say I actually look forward to my morning walk. I enjoy the time out, before I would classify sitting on the couch watching a movie with a bag of chips time out!!
